The mission of the Lincoln County Schools Special Education Department is to meet the unique needs of all certified special education students. The Special Education Program is diverse and attempts to meet the needs of students with a wide range of age and ability levels. Service options may include inclusion classes, resource classes, and self-contained classes. Related services include counseling, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and physical therapy.
In keeping with the mandate from IDEA, Lincoln County Special Education seeks to provide the most inclusive environment for all students. Inclusion means the schools, classrooms, and school activities are open to every student and they are afforded every opportunity to be included with their non-disabled peers. The focus is on giving every student the help he/she needs to learn.
