Stephanie Eady Britt is a native of Fayetteville, Tennessee. She is the daughter of Mrs. Ann G. Eady and the late Command Sergeant Major Robert M. Eady. Ms. Britt is beginning her 32nd year of employment with the Lincoln County Department of Education as the system-wide School Nutrition Program Supervisor, where she is responsible for the administration of the National School Lunch, School Breakfast, and After-School Snack Programs for the school system. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Foods and Nutrition/Dietetics from Middle Tennessee State University in 1984; her Master of Science Degree in Home Economics Education and Nutrition from Alabama A & M University in 1987; and her Education Specialist Degree in Administration and Supervision from Tennessee State University in 2004. She completed the dietetic internship program at Utah State University, and became a Registered Dietitian in 2007. She holds a level three certification from the School Nutrition Association and has earned the designation of school nutrition specialist. She is also ServSafe Certified and is a ServSafe Certified Instructor and Proctor.
Ms. Britt graduated from Tennessee School Nutrition Association’s first Culinary Academy in 2013, earning the designation of TSNA Culinary Specialist, and also graduated from Tennessee School Nutrition Association’s Leadership Academy in 2014. She has earned the Commission on Dietetics registration certificates of training in childhood and adolescent weight management, and in adult weight management. As a School Nutrition Association certified trainer, Ms. Britt provides safety, sanitation, and nutrition training to school food service personnel, and 100% of her staff have earned level one certification with the School Nutrition Association. She is a member of the following national organizations and their state and local affiliates: the School Nutrition Association, the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, and the National Education Association. She has served on the Advisory Council for the Family and Consumer Sciences Department at Alabama A & M University and as a preceptor for dietetic interns for the Utah State University Dietetic Internship Program. Ms. Britt has had a wide variety of experiences as a consulting registered dietitian. She has consulted for Lincoln County Schools’ Coordinated School Health Program where part of her responsibility was to visit classrooms and teach nutritionstill provides diabetes education and general nutrition education when requested. She has worked for area physicians with clients/patients in the areas of general wellness, weight management for adults and children, and pre- and post- bariatric surgery counseling, and support in the management of various disease states. She enjoys working with the elderly as a p.rn. dietitian and teaching diabetes education and lifestyle classes. Ms. Britt is active in the community, graduating in the 2014 Leadership Lincoln Class and currently serving on the Leadership Lincoln Executive Board. She is also a member of the Fayetteville Mainstreet Board and serves as this year’s president.
Ms. Britt has two adult children, four grandchildren, and is married to Thuston A. Britt. Her favorite pastimes include traveling, baking, winemaking, and playing classical piano.
