Lorraine Boone serves as the Superivsor of Special Education. Mrs. Lorraine Boone has 30 years of experience as an educator in the state of Alabama and Neu Ulm, Germany. She earned a Bachelors of Art and Masters of Science in Special Education from Talladega College and Jacksonville State University. She also earned a Masters of Science in School Administration from The University of Alabama.
Her experiences include teacher of special education and general education, assistant principal, principal, Director of Special Education and Director of Elementary Education in the Madison County Schools, in Huntsville, Alabama.
Mrs. Boone has been employed with the Lincoln County Schools for the past 1.5 years as an Intervention Teacher at South Lincoln.
Her professional affiliations include member of Leadership Huntsville(Class of 27), School Board Chairperson of the Union Chapel Christian Academy, member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and a member of the Foundation Board of Directors.
She is married to James Boone and has 2 adult sons and 5 precious grandchildren.
The special education supervisor interacts with other school administrators, faculty, counselors, psychologists, therapists, and other professionals who provide special education services to develop academic plans for students at the schools. The supervisor also performs a variety of administrative tasks related to policy implementation, compliance with legal regulations, and maintaining education standards.
