The yearbook staff is still accepting weedends and vacations pictures and student artwork.  Please turn them into Ms. Beutjer by November 7th.

 

FBLA – BPA has started their membership drive.  If are, have, or going to take a business or computer class come join us.  The dues are $25.00. See Mrs. Watt or Ms. Sanders.

 

Students who turned in pictures or artwork for the yearbook need to see Ms. Beutjer to pick up their items.

 

Beauty Pageant Contestants and Mr. & Mrs. LCHS participants - please turn in your information sheet to Ms. Beutjer in the library by Friday Nov 7.

 

Academic Team – Please turn in the trip forms for Nov. 15 ASAP.  We need a count to determine the number of teams.

 

Donations of books, CD’s, DVD’s, and videos will be gladly accepted.  Please give them to Mrs. Stone or Mrs. Peterson by Friday.

 

Applications for Miss Yuletide Beauty to be held December 6, 2008 are in front office. (sponsored by Stone Bridge Academy PTO)

 

Seniors if you would like to select your senior picture poses for the yearbook, see Ms. Beutjer in the library by Tuesday, Nov 11th.

 

The Skills USA club is sponsoring a canned food drive from now until December 19th.  This food drive will benefit Lincoln County citizens.  Our goal for this drive is 2008 cans or boxed food items.  We would like to ask that every LCHS student, teacher, staff member, and administrator to contribute to this effort.  If every person mentioned above could bring one or two food items, we as a school could make the holidays brighter for many Lincoln County families.  For more information please see any Skills USA officer or contact Mr. Bryant.

 

Lincoln County Coat Drive, which is sponsored annually by the Fayetteville Rotary Club, Fayetteville Fire Department, and The Times has coats to fit children.  Anyone in need of a coat is invited to drop by the Fayetteville Police Department.  Teachers who know of children in need of a coat may stop by or let parents know about the availability of coats.

 

Members of consumer FCCLA need to come by the Family and Consumer Science Dept. by 3:00pm Friday and vote for officers.

 

Main Street Youth Board meeting Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2008 at 11:30am.  Students need to turn in green forms to front office.

 

Seniors who are on the prom Committee need to meet Tuesday morning at 7:30 in Room 25.

 

Congratulations to the FFA Parliamentary Procedure team for winning the sectional contest last night.  Students:  Morgan Wetherington,  Whitney Counts,  Cassi Key,  Abby King,  Haley Cobb,  and Alyssa Bussell will compete in the regional competition next Thursday at Riverdale.

SENIOR MEMO 11/07/08

 

The SunTrust Off To College Scholarship Sweepstakes begins in October.  Beginning October 31 through May 31, one winner will be chosen every two weeks for a $1000 scholarship.  Seniors should apply online at www.offtocollege.info.  Eligibility is not based on GPA or financial need.  Visit the web site for details and to apply.

 

The AXA Achievement Scholarship has been announced.  Students can apply online at www.axa-achievement.com.  Applications must be submitted by December 15, 2008.

 

All students are encouraged to enter the Lions Club Drug Essay Contest.  Pick up information in guidance.  Deadline Nov. 15, 2008.

 

The McKelvey Foundation Entrepreneurial Scholarship is available to seniors who own and operate a business while in high school. Amount: up to $10,000. Interested students must complete the online application at www.mckelveyfoundation.org. Deadline: January 25, 2009.

 

The “Pro-Earth” Scholarship is for seniors with at least 3.0 GPA & 24 ACT. Applicants must write an essay that defines a pro-earth person. Amount : $2,000. Deadline: December 6, 2008. More information in Guidance.

 

The University of Memphis Emerging Leaders Scholarship is for seniors with a leadership background. Applicants must have a 3.0 GPA & 21 ACT score. Amount: $5500. Deadline: January 30, 2009. Visit Guidance for more information.
