Notes:
If a computer accesses the Internet, chances are that it DOES have spyware. To help reduce the chance of spyware infection DO NOT accept any “Free” offers that may popup on your screen. Also do not access Links in “Free Offer” or “Warning …” that you might receive as e-mail. Another thing to avoid is installing any kind of “Search Bar” no matter who publishes it.
Most screen savers downloadable from the internet include some kind of spyware or worse, can stop your computer from accessing the internet completely. PLEASE be careful what you install on your computer from the internet.
Adaware is a Spyware scanner only. It does not have an immunization function.
Spybot S&D is both a spyware scanner and immunizer.
SpywareBlaster is an immunizer only. It does not have a scanning function.
Adaware and Spybot S&D scanners complement each other and each finds spyware that the other can’t. Therefore run BOTH at least monthly.
Spybot S&D and SpywareBlaster immunizers complement each other in that both immunize for slightly different spyware programs and MUST be kept updated and have any new immunization applied on a regular schedule.
