Dr. Amanda Pickens was recently hired as an assistant principal/curriculum coordinator at Highland Rim Middle School. Prior to that, she served in the same position at Unity Middle School.
Her experience in Lincoln County began at Flintville School where she served six years as a kindergarten teacher and one year as a first grade teacher. In addition, she served as a lead teacher for three years.
Dr. Pickens holds a Bachelor of Science in k-6 education from Athens State University, a Master of Arts in teaching and learning from Nova Southeastern University, and a Doctorate in educational leadership and policy analysis from East Tennessee State University.
She is married to Scott Pickens, who works as a captain for Huntsville Fire and Rescue and they have three children, Christa, Bella-Kate, and Max.
