Green Named Elementary Teacher of the Year for Lincoln County

Lincoln County Schools is proud to announce that the PreK-4 teacher of the year is Margie Green. Mrs. Green teaches Fourth Grade English Language Arts at Unity School.   While beginning her teaching career in Warren County where she taught for nine years, Mrs. Green moved back home in 2005 and has taught various grades at Unity throughout the years. 

Mrs. Green also has served as a Teacher Leader for the past seven years which has included mentoring new teachers. 

Mrs. Green  is a 1988 graduate of Lincoln County High School.  She received a Bachelor’s degree from Bethel College in 1992 and obtained a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Middle Tennessee State University in 2014.

Mrs. Green resides in Petersburg with her husband of 29 years, Troy.  They have a daughter, McKenzie, who is an App Designer and lives in Franklin and a son, Harrison, who is a student at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. Mrs. Green enjoys spending time with her family, baking, and reading. She is also very involved in her church, the Petersburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church, and their community activities.
