ESL Programming Guidelines
Lincoln County School System's Plan for Evaluating, Screening, and Hiring Teachers Fluent in Reading, Writing, Speaking, and Listening
The Lincoln County School System requires that all teachers be "Highly Qualified". All current teachers have been evaluated and meet these standards. All new hires must met these standards and be fluent in reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
All applicants must provide documentation of fluency as indicated by teacher's licence, transcripts from colleges, Praxis scores and verification of highly qualified status.
New applicants must also provide a list of their regular, full time teaching experience. They are also asked to provide a list of their other work experience as well as military service. Applicants with less than two years of experience are asked to provide their record of practice teaching.
Applicants are asked to provide three references who could be contacted for recommendations as part of our evaluation and screening process. Applicants will also be interviewed by the appropriate administrator to determine the most fluent and skilled person for the teaching position. The administrator will then submit his/her recommendation for employment to the Supervisor of Personnel and the Director of Schools.
